Music blared from Kiara's iPod as she sketched a random scene into her notebook, she looked up from the page into the dark sky. It was about five AM, not unusual for her, she usually left the house early, went to the field, and then went to school later. Stupid rain... Kiara thought, it was starting to mist outside and her page was starting to get kind of wet. She liked the rain, but when it interfered with her sketching... She did not like it. With a sigh she stood up and went underneath the small pine tree, hoping it's thicker branches would shield her a little bit.
Her phone buzzed. With a small mutter Kiara slid the phone open and checked the text message. It was from her brother. Kiara, where are you? It said, with a rolll of her eyes Kiara closed it, not responding. She wasn't interested in talking to her brother right then.
She thought about her friends, Jenna, December, and Derrick. Kiara wondered for a few minutes where they were. Might still be sleeping. She thought, with a nod.

"TRIPP, TRIPP, TRIPP, TRIPP!!" Derrick groaned. "River, go away...," he mumbled into his pillow. He grunt when River jumped on him and was soon joined by Caden. "Guys, get off! Ow, I'm serious, get off!" He squirmed underneath his half-siblings, unable to breath or move without it hurting to the point of him wanting to scream. "Hey Mar, c'mere," River called to their little sister. She walked in and smirked, catching what River wanted before he had to say anything; she ran and jumped on Derrick, squishing him. Derrick howled and shoved his face into the pillow. With every shallow breath, his ribs crushed and stabbed. "Get off of him, you three," their mom laughed. "If you kill your brother, who's going to run our errands?" Yeah. Great. Thanks, that makes me feel just great. Derrick sighed and sat up after his siblings got off. He got out of bed and froze at the look his mom gave him. "As for you," she hissed, "I need for you to go to the store after school today. We need some things." She turned and left the room. "And don't even think about going back to sleep you lazy --" Derrick didn't need to hear the rest. He grabbed pulled on a shirt and a pair of pants. " When your only friends are hotel rooms, hands are distant lullabies; If I could turn around, I would tonight... The music was quiet, especially since his family thought his music was all a bunch of gay, whiny, brainwashing crap. " Hey, Kiara. You down at the field?" x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x December pulled the hood of his jacket up. He liked rain but this was just ridiculous; mist wasn't rain, it was water suspended in the air. In addition to liking rain, December loved the night. His friends often called him a vampire because of it since he could sleep much easier during the day than at night. December really kinda liked it, but he didn't want to have to wander aimlessly and without a point after he died. He whistled quietly, just walking to no particular place. I don't want to be a vampire because they wander aimlessly without a point but what am I doing right now? He sighed and rolled his eyes at himself. His life was just one big contradiction.

"Yup."
Kiara frowned, closing her notebook. The page was just full of random little drawings of stars and stuff now because her creative ideas just weren't coming out the way she wanted them to, she slipped it into her messenger bag and stood up. The field was full of sunflowers, and other little flowers. It didn't make Kiara smile any.
I don't have a good feeling about today... Kiara thought, shaking her head as she looked around the field. Some people would be scared to be out in the night. Kiara didn't care though, if she got killed, who would care? It wasn't like her parents would. Sadly, they wouldn't have anyone to blame anymore. She thought, bitterly. Her parents had taken a liking to blaming her for things that weren't her fault after her brothers accident. Kiara bit at her lip and looking at the ground. She still blamed herself for that accident....

Jenna sat in the apartment listening to the old record player play "Billy Jean" by MJ. She put her eggplant, though fading, bow in her hair silently and tied it in a giant bow it draped down to her shoulders where her choppy ends landed and her small fragile body began. She yawned and stretched kicking a dead mouse out the door with disgust. She looked at the record ended. She went and grabbed a new one from under it. "Blame it on the Boogie." This song just had a special place in her heart. It was the first she learned how to play... somewhat... and her dad and her used to always dance around to it. She smiled and started signing along silently. After only a verse she was singing as loud as she could get rocking around the small living room/ kitchen. She giggled and danced happily (WOO HAPPY PERSON!).
"Jenna shut up!" Her sister Kimmy muttered walking out of the bedroom. "Why arn't you gone yet?"
"Because I have to get you up." Jenna hissed "Miri isn't up yet and I have to wait for her so I make sure she has Carmen." she quickly grabbed her phone "Will I go to prison or juvie for murdering my little sister?" she quickly texted Kiara

" Want to meet up there or somewhere else?[/color]" Derrick grabbed his things and walked into the bathroom to finish getting ready. He grabbed his eyeliner and looked out the door as one of his siblings hissed a crude comment at him. "Shut up, I am not gay." "Just come out of the closet already. You hang out with a bunch of girls and only one guy. And even I admit that boy is cute." Caden smirked. She was usually the quiet one in the family and rarely spoke. Derrick glared and pushed the door closed. "Get out of the way, Caden," he growled as she pushed it to keep it open. He push harder, gritting his teeth. "CADEN, MOVE YOUR UGLY ASS!" The door slammed shut and Derrick's head slammed against it, making him dizzy. As soon as he stopped seeing triples of everything, he locked the door. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x December stopped walking and thought for a minute. Maybe he could walk to one of his friends house. But, at this point, he wasn't sure who has closest. Kiara, Derrick, or Jenna? He shrugged and turned around, walking back toward where he had come from. Someone would update him when they were up and had a plan; after all, they all knew the situation of each other and kept pretty tight knit.

"Probably, but hey, I'll help you take out law enforcement." Kiara responded to Jenna, after a second she flicked a strand of her hair out of her eyes and looked up at the sky. Kiara felt rather at home there in the field, it was where people usually could find her there sketching something random. It was a place she could be without her parents or her older brother hanging around, she shook her head at the thought she had and took a deep breath before she looked back up at the sky.
"Could we meet at the field?" Kiara slipped the phone back into her bag and stood up, tossing the bag over her shoulder as she walked back toward the pine tree, picking random, dead, pine needles off the branches, she sighed, not having much else to do until Derrick or someone else got there. With a shrug, she pulled her phone back out and sent a quick text to December.
"Hey. "

“Alrighty then. I’ll go ahead and text the others.[/i]” “Meet up in the field, Kiara’s already there.[/i]” He sent to Jenna and December. Derrick looked at his reflection in the mirror and groaned; a huge bruise that was gradually becoming darker had formed from her left cheek bone all the way up to his temple. He sighed and swung his messenger bag over his shoulder, coming out of the bathroom. Derry looked up only in time to see his mother slap him across the face. He yelped, falling to the floor, “Ow, what’d I do?!” “Did you or did you not insult Caden and swear?” His mother grabbed him by the hair and pulled him to his feet. Derrick bit his lip in both pure pain and fear. “Yes,” he finally answered. His mother looked ready to smack him again but dropped him to the floor and stomped off. “Get out; I don’t want to see your face for the rest of the day. And don’t even think that excuses you from going to the store you sorry excuse for a boy!” Derrick stood up, holding the side of his face which was now bruised from smashing against the door and being smacked. He looked up at Caden, who just looked at him blankly before she glared at him with pure hatred and smacked him. Derrick grit his teeth and grabbed his jacket, walking out of the house and heading for the field. The side of his face hurt beyond words and he was slightly dizzy, but he didn’t complain.

December pulled his phone from his pocket. “Good morning.” He pulled his hood further over his head, until it covered his face. He zipped it up and shoved his hands in his pocket; the jacket was made to look like a skeleton, with the hood over his face being the head, and smirked to himself thinking what other people would think looking at him. He looked at the text from Derrick. “Aye aye, captain.” Looking at the street sign, December was glad to find out he was only about a block away from the field and started off. He walked through the tall weeds and grass and stopped at the tree Kiara was at. “Hey.”

"Eh maybe I don't want to go to the field. We should go to Mars instead." Jenna texted as Miri walked in the tiny appartment. She was dark skinned and elderly but extreamly nice to Jenna, Kimmy and Carmen. She smiled at Jenna "Go out and see your friends. I'll make sure the girls are okay." she told her. Jenna nodded and walked out grabbing her small, crappy, but she loved it, iPod and walked out. She practicly danced the whole way there. "ASSHOLE!" she snapped as a person practicly hit her as she about crossed the streat. She muttered something under her breath and started singing to "All American Girl" by Carrie Underwood. "His heart belongs to that sweet little beautiful wonderfull perfect all american girl!" she sang walking into the field eyes closed yet knowing exactly where to go.

Okay.[/B]
Kiara drummed her fingers on the ground next to her, eyes still fixed on the sky. She shook her head slightly. I can't wait to get away from this place... Kiara thought, visions filled her head of finally getting away from her family, maybe even being happy for once. When she looked away from the sky, she spotted December walking over to her. "Hey," Kiara said. "is Jenna with you?" She asked, curiously. Kiara was normally pretty happy with her friends. As long as she was away from her family. The scent of damp earth and pine needles made Kiara feel safe for some reason, the field had been a part of her childhood for quite some time, and December's presence made her feel even more safe, oddly.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. You're such a smart ass, Jenna!!"
December smirked, jerking his thumb over his shoulder to the dancing form coming toward them in the mist. "I guess you could say that." He was almost tempted to hide and jump out to scare Jenna but he was either too lazy or just thought it would be a little too mean; either way, he remained where he was, swaying ever so slightly. "All we're missing is Derry, now; but he shouldn't be too long."

Kiara nodded, "I guess I could." She slipped her hands into her pockets, the morning was kind of cold and Kiara wasn't a big fan of being cold. "Yep." Kiara pulled her hood up over her head and looked over at Jenna. School was in an hour, fun, fun.

"And I guess you did," he said with a slight smile. December wasn't sure why but he liked standing here with Kiara, just waiting for their friends; he liked it much more than being at home or when he was just walking around and waiting for something to do. December looked at Jenna through his hood. "Why don't you tell us how you really feel, huh?" He laughed lightly. "Did you see Derrick on your way here?" He felt bad for Derrick, not only did he feel unwanted by everyone but his little group of friends that stood here in the field but he was severely physically abused by all of his family. It made December feel like he was just a whimp for acting the way he had for so long now just because his ex-girlfriend cheated on him. x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x-x " ahh, but how would you know? Hmm?" Derrick yelped as he was almost run over by a bicyclist and then a SUV when he tried to jump out of the way. "Christ, I swear I'm going to get killed today," he said aloud to himself. Looking up, he almost fully expected a bolt of lightening to strike him down where he stood; quickly, he began to jog toward the field hoping he hadn't just jinxed himself. [[By the way, this is what Cember's hoodie looks like. ^_^]]

Jenna shrugged "Hell I don't even know how I feel." she snickered "Because my ass can't talk!" she adjusted the bow in her hair slightly "Feelings are only a meer guess of how somebody really is." she told December "Now how do you really feel hon?" she smiled. She normaly called anybody hon/honey at any given moment, no matter who you were. (She and Derrick should go out *nods*)

Kiara looked at Jenna and shook her head, "You are a very weird girl..." She stated and then turned to December and nodded. "Oh, and Jenna... You're 'hon' thing kinda freaks me out. Just thought I'd mention it," Kiara smiled and switched the song on her iPod to Black Orchid by Blue October. "I don't know why, but it just does..."
