Brooklyn sat at the table, looking between the conversation going on between her mother and Katyna. All she saw was the quick movement of Katyna's lips, with food stored into her cheeks as she talked, then Simone talking back in a slower, more aggrivated way, seeing the way her mouth was moving as she talked and she wasn't making any eye contact with Katyna. Brooklyn sighed as she stabbed at another pea on her plate. She wasn't that hungry to begin with and dinner was never really a time for her to be with her family and talk and whatever. If they ever talked to her it would just fall apon deaf ears, literally. She sighed and stood as soon as she finished, with out permission, just wanting to get away from the socializing and trying to read everybody's lips and seeing food slosh around in their mouth. Around the time Brooklyn hit puberty her hearing aid began to fail in her right ear. It also became harder and harder for her to hear out of her left. At about 15 her world was compleatly silent. She hated it at first but eventually it got a little better for her. Ever since she was adopted in the first place her parents and siblings had started to learn sign, and so had she. So Brooklyn had communication with them, just not verbal communication. She grabbed her phone out of her pocket, looking for just the right person to text. Dominic. Shortly after Christmas with the being reunion and all that Dom and Tricia FINALLY got together. And about a week after that they told them that Tricia was pregnant. Now she was 7 months pregnant and Brooklyn had never seen her older brother more happy with any other girl. She just wanted him right now though 'Come pick me up. Now.' Was all she had texted him. She sat in her room, and a paper, just reading the message over and over and over again. It had to be a prank. It couldn't be them...
"Brooklyn,
It's me... it's mommy. I finally found you my baby girl. I went to go get you years back and I couldn't find you. She said you were gone... my baby was gone. I couldn't bare to not have you in my life, daddy and I would love to see you soon. Please take this seriously my sweetheart. I would never give you up without giving you back. I promised you that the day daddy and I left. You weren't supposed to be given away by that whore of a woman, she was supposed to keep you until we were ready. I will be there soon my baby. To get you back where you belong.
Love,
Mommy."
She shuttered at the letter and whined. She tried to not let the tears fall but she couldn't hold them back, she burried her head in her pillow and just started to sob.
Meanwhile back at the table.
"So mommy today in class we got a new seating chart and now I have to sit next to Markus Pentley!" "EWWWW!" Grace made a face and practically choked on her peas "That's yucky!" she laughed and looked at her adopted sister "That must be gross! Did he smell like dead chickens Jackie?" "No! He smelled like eggs!" Jaquiline, Jackie for short giggled. She looked almost exactly like her father. She had natrual jet black hair from him being from Hawaii and being part asian it apparently passed to her. She also had natural tan skin, the second darkest in the Trumper family besides Hazel, who didn't count because she was black. She had been adopted after the fire, and Gordon and Simone being given full legal custidy of her if they wished, which they had. Even though Jackie does remember her parents, it was a very vague rememberance. She now considered Simone and Gordon her mommy and daddy, yes. That's exactly what she refered to them as. She looked up "Oh and I got a perfect on my spelling test!" Jackie looked at them, proud of herself "Hey can we stay up extra late tonight?!" she looked at Gordon, who was normally the person they would ask for that. It was a Friday night and even on weekend she and Aalyah (Sorry if I spelled it wrong. I forget) and Grace even had a bedtime. She gave her deep blue eyes, one of the only traits she had gotten from her mother, a begging look as she smiled at Gordon "Please daddy!"
